remember those in old school cartoons? or making 'shrunken heads' with peeled apples on a stick?
well - blow me down, I learnt today that they really existed. WHOA!!
Unfortunately, I learnt this tidbit while half watching a docu on the Discovery Civilization channel - and it was just a short side remark/display of less than 5 seconds - made by a man in a back storage room in the EGYPTIAN museum at the Smithsonian (he was showing off mummies) .. so i took a double take.. not only did they really exist - but in Egypt?
I jumped online and found plenty of info relating to shrunken heads in South America.. no reference to any found in Africa..
