"Should Three People be Allowed to Marry?"

I thought that, that was an interesting question, as one evening turning through channels, I overheard it being mocked on "The Daily Show." I don't remember who asked it, but it was a White man, possibly even a politician. The internet wasn't too helpful in identifying him; obviously it's related to the Gay Marriage debate White folk love.

Still, what do you think? For the most part, Traditional Africa practiced complementarity as between one man and one woman; but given complementarity isn't the core of the marriage debate, what about 'two people maximum?'

Why would anyone have a need to marry a third spouse?

And what about African tribes that promoted polygamy and/or polyandry? Their goals were to marry as many spouses as possible because there weren't enough men or women to go around to support the tribe's continuation.

There was also an issue of money and wealth. The more spouses you had, the more wealth you displayed.

We don't have that issue here in America. If someone marries a third spouse and they are not from a culture or religion that supports polygamy/polyandry, there is a self-esteem issue present.

    Oh that's interesting.

I had a love interest from Ghana.

Is it expensive taking a second wife? How do the wives themselves feel about this? And what do they do about sharing intimacy?

I wouldn't know. From the outside looking in, The Northern tribe handle it well. They understand the concept cuz they were raised to think like that only if you choose,so no problems there. The wifes who cope have self control and patience. The rest i will say jealousy is a big problem from the wifes. They usually dont live in the same house.Money not an issue here.Sharing is caring right? right so they share what they have.My People(Africans) Dont care much for money cuz we were ok with butter trade(Services for Food stuff etc)before colonization and money became power. So the new African whose ideologies is a bit westernized feel they need to accumulate wealth. The Jews and African are very much the same cuz can have more than one wife but the rules are whatever you give or do one wife much do the exact they same to the other wife.Islam is the same.

my answer to the question of this post.....that depends on what country or city the couple live in...or who is accepting this kind of lifestyle...
