Should College Education Be Free?

Not only free... But REQUIRED

Yes, you can see the dumbing down in the USA. Especially when George W was President. What an embarrassment. Other countries are far more advanced. And, people are predicting that our economy is about to crash again like in 2008. But, this time, no one is gonna bail us out. We need better educated people to solve the many problems that we face. It is a necessity.

Thanks for posting.

Education should be free but schools should not be doing things to make it more expensive than necessary. High school graduates in some other countries are better educated than some college graduates here. The education is a business is a racket.

We should have had a National Recommended Reading List decades ago. Maybe 50, one for each state. Start reading the right books in grade school and keep it up and some college graduates seem silly.

But we have this issue of "molding children's minds" and who decides what mold to use. There are a lot of dumb Black people that want to tell others what being Black is. But how many Blacks know what a Maxim gun is and what is has to do with the First Battle of Matabele?

Talking about Black power without knowing technology is complete nonsense.

Of course higher education in most cases IS free it's the US "collegiate" system that has become just another cash cow for the capitalistic system. There are more resources for learning available now than any other time in history, right here on the internet, but people still have to PAY for "classes" at schools who have paid to be in the "club" in order to be legal in most states. It seems colleges have become a means of justifying a system biased against traditional "experience" credentialing that allows for the type of apprenticeships that support generational sharing of skill sets! The goal is to sustain debt, not to actually teach anything really useful, so yes it should be free.

Yes. And, there are a lot of unaccredited colleges out there. The competitiveness is not just if you have a degree, also, what degree do you have, and what school did you get it from.

And, the one point I was trying to make was this. Our country is losing traction badly compared to other countries. We have fallen so far behind. We re among the dumbest nations. So, offering free University education is not just for the good of the individual, it s also for the good of the nation.
