"Shetaut Neter is the name or ancient African term that most likely you have heard translated as the "Egyptian Mysteries." You probably know that the Egyptian Mysteries is something that was practiced in Kamit (Ancient Egypt). In general (orthodox) western culture, it is often related as something mysterious, something occult, something shrouded in history, in darkness. People are oftentimes told that they should shy away from it or that way should fear it. This is one of the greatest hoaxes that have been perpetrated on Egyptian spirituality and African culture. The importance of African philosophy is not only for African culture in Africa, but African Culture outside of Africa, the latter relating to all humanity in the larger sense."

    Origins of the Unut...

U-nu-t was a prehistoric deity that originally had the form of a snake and called "The swift one". She came from province 15 in Shemau and was worshipped with Thoth at the capital Hermopolis. Later she got a woman's body and a hare's head. She was taken into the cult of Horus and later by Re. There were five hieroglyphic signs of her, but she was otherwise rarely spoken of in literature and inscriptions. An exceptional sculpture of her has been found by american archaeologists and is probably the only one of its kind found so far. Her name was taken in to the Highest Royal Position just once in the long Egyptian history. The only king with her name was Unas from dynasty five.

One aspect of her is the goddess who destroys with her knives, and she was identified with Sekhet, and in this form she was also the deity of the city Men-het.
