    she noddin' on heroine
they make her feel like she don't fit in
so she starts chasin' the dragon
    she noddin' on heroine
    suckin' that smoke in
    through a clear plastic tube
she say she don't shoot it yet
so right now she has no regrets
it's just that the clouds start bumpin
her brain while the sun sets

    she noddin' on heroine
    but she also blames him
for making her lose her children
for makin' her turn and have a fit
from bein' cute, til that just quit
and now she's out there turnin' tricks
but she don't shoot it yet
and that's just one less regret
but when the white noise starts pumpin
    and her skin starts jumpin'
    she gotta feed that itch

    she noddin' on heroine
    standing at the bus stop
wondering why people look at her with distaste
she looks in the mirror and still sees beauty in her face
not the lines, or the paleness or the paste
    the slackness in her mouth
    people sayin' what a waste
to her it's still under control
it doesn't have her, just her troubled soul
she gonna stop as soon as it gets old
but right now it feels like a velvet blanket
    wrapping her inside it's comfort
and the smooth smoke fills her lungs
as once again she chases the dragon

this is a sad situation to be in...

while many might say that drug addicts have only themselves to blame, I always think sometimes some of us are not strong enough to deal with what life throws our way, so we escape, into drugs/alcohol whatever..and if we're lucky we find our way home again...

this piece was inspired by a woman i saw noddin' on heroine while she was waiting for the bus in newark. you could tell she was really pretty once...but now she just looked like a drug addict...and the way she carried herself...it was almost as though she couldn't see it herself...or thought she was fooling people...hard to explain her look...but it inspired this piece.

Oh this was rawdawg real and vivid!
like I was standin' there at the busstop
lookin' at her. Seen it all too often
    No point in pointin fingers
at her tellin' her it's her fault like I'm tryin'
to cover my own obvious guilt or contribution
to the problem. I'd rather be part of a sollution
it's clear to see the difference.
if it's really love than when one hurts
    we all hurt...
    Thanx for writing this piece!
