Five hours a night
Dancing for pay
After six hours of school
During the day
She had to dance
To make ends meet
Two kids to feed
Her life was not sweet
So she danced

Offers came nightly
From men with folded cash
She could have been"kept"
She had so little
And for her body
She could have so much more
No...not this way
She was not a whore
So she danced

Five years passed
She earned her degree
Her children so proud
Walking across the stage
Degree in hand
She thought of her bright future
She danced
