passed you on the street today
for just one moment i wanted to stop
but did not i'm already late
i continue toward all that waits
the business of the day is calling
an inexplicable feeling accompanies
me to my destination
i shrug it off and get down to business
with the tasks at hand complete
i am ready to go home
there it is again that mysterious feeling
its presence much stronger
and confronting me
i passed you by like some non-entity
but
i saw you
weighing my minutes against your homelessness
i kept going
now i sit
praying for another opportunity
promising to do it differently
