    Shadows....
An elusive image shadows me daily
    following my every move
is it a figment of my imagination, or
a vision that fate has yet to prove?
    Unfamiliar places...
appear as echoes in my dreams
An unfamiliar abode, a warm hideaway
I dream of it often, and try to place it, yet its
location is as unknown today as it was yesterday
    Blooming into...
Botanical gardens dripping with fragrant hues
from lavender lilies to purple posies to red roses
a rainbow of velvet petals so delicate, drawing us
under their spell as the fragrance tickles our noses
I suppose love can be this way
appearing as a shadow of its true being, putting one
into a dreamlike state, while trying to envision
a garden blossoming beyond what we're capable of seeing
shadows...unfamiliar places blooming into botanical gardens

I really like the mellow pensiveness in the tone, it's intricate without having "in your face" complexity (if that makes sense, heh), very peaceful. Lovely piece.

Iwannabe, that makes perfect sense, and I'm so glad that you were able to see the vision I posed, thank you poet.
Thank you Wisdom7, happy to know that you received such a strong sense of those flowers.
Thanks Rich for saying the view was so clear you could taste it brotha.
Inque, I believe what you're saying is that it's intricate, but the wording doesn't make one say, "huh?" or need to go running to find a dictionary. Thank you kindly.
Good to know you found this to be calming blkangel, thank you, appreciated.

    Watz,
    this was sooooo nice
(my standard reply for a "not at all standard" poem, forgive me)
i can say this to you....i've been through the shadows seeking unfamiliar places
    arriving at the gardens...perhaps tomorrow?
    nicely posed.

    Don't even trip!

This was soft, and much needed during these hard days.
