Seshat-The Goddess of Writing and Astronomy

Seshat was the Goddess of Writing and Astronomy, Architecture and Mathematics. When Tehuti became a God of Wisdom, Seshat was seen as Tehuti's daughter. Seshat was important in the building of Temples as she was consulted before the building started to get the Right Location and the Right orientation. Seshat was depicted as a woman with a headdress that was also her hieroglyph. Seshat's hieroglyph represents the Seven Pointed Star on a standard that is beneath a set of down-turned horns. As Mistress of The Builders Seshat's priests measured the outlay of a new temple with their measuring rope in a ceremony referred to as Stretching The Cord. At Edfu, Seshat bore the epithet of Mistress of Ground-Plans and Writing.
