CONGRATULATIONS TO SERENA WILLIAMS FOR WINNING HER 6TH WIMBLEDON TITLE AND HER SERENA SLAM.

Next up is the U.S. OPEN in NY, where Serena can win the calendar Grand Slam and tie Steffi Graf with 22 major wins.

Again, big ups to Serena Williams and the best of luck to her this year and next year.

    peace

She is without a doubt one of--if not THE--greatest female tennis player ever. Cogratulations. I know she rankles a lot of white tennis fans but nuts to them. No one can argue with success.

The most successful female athlete of all time just got body shamed in the New York Times

On Friday, just as Serena Williams was preparing to clean up her historic sixth Wimbledon victory, the New York Times decided it was a good time to critique her body:

Williams, who will be vying for the Wimbledon title against Garbiñe Muguruza on Saturday, has large biceps and a mold-breaking muscular frame, which packs the power and athleticism that have dominated women’s tennis for years. Her rivals could try to emulate her physique, but most of them choose not to ...

I read the aboce article criticizing the NYT piece yesterday. The Times is taking hits from many sides on this one. It's a self-inflicted wound. They should have known better.

I read the NYT piece itself titled "Tennis’s Top Women Balance Body Image With Ambition."
    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/11/s...alance-body-image-with-quest-for-success.html

The Times itself backed away from the piece in an opinion penned by its own public editor titled "Double Fault in Article on Serena Williams and Body Image?"
    http://publiceditor.blogs.nytimes.c...in-article-on-serena-williams-and-body-image/

The Times should just issue an apology and minimize the damage. I can't imagine how anyone at the NYT thought the original article was a good idea.
