What does this exactly mean from your stand point. Do you believe we uphold it in todays court system! By the way in my opinion church is much more than just the structure, if that's to say anything.

Yes stand up for what's written. If it's supposedly the law of the land.

Religious people should love the concept of "separation of church and state." Many people may live in the same geographic location, but NOT share the same religion. By keeping religion OUT of things, you keep people from fighting.

In the US, people like to consider this a "Christian" country, and it isn't. There are hundreds of different faiths here. And when you start giving preferential treatment to one faith, and not ALL of the others that's when the fights start. Our founding fathers were smart enough to know better than to make this a Christian country, especially when many of them were heretics and atheists.

I'm sure you good Christians would not like to see your tax dollars fund a Beltane ritual where Wiccans dance naked and jump fires in your local parks now would you?

    Peace,

State is the region or group of people and the institutions they've created to maintain that group of people.

Church is the institution of Religion

These two systems should have nothing to do with each other because Religion in principle challenges it's devotees to separate from secular thought and ways. Since State or The State is derived by the people (at least in democratic societies), Religion is a potential competitor since the rules and regulations of Religion are established by a small group of people or better yet, an oligarchy.

Essentially, these two don't mix well in a society that desires to consider itself civilized.

    Peace
