100 College prep seats set aside for the top eighth graders

The best scoring eighth graders from some of the city's worst scoring schools
are being saved 100 seats at four elite college preps
soon many eighth graders at many low scoring public schools will be issued letters
including top schools and will invite kids to the top college prep schools for
    higher learning
last year many prep schools had picked 55% from the richest tier and 15% from the poorest one.

Do you think this would be productive and have balance for uprising children
    and teens ???

    No, it will not.

Now that they have gotten a faulty education and their minds are weak, they get further programm'd by now being ready to take on some characteristics...

they will come from the underpriviledged school

where they learn they are inferior, now to "the valley" to c and experience who they r inferior to

it's the education that needs to change, not the location of the oppression occurring

I'd like to think it is a great idea,

    go for it?

however I worry that it may send wrong messages, and also what if the top of the worst are still not up to par with what the top from the top are being taught, and exposed to?

it would be interesting to see the end results as to if all who are chosen, complete, and are successful.

there is a prof that suggested that kids benefit the most through by putting the lowest alongside the top, and middle students. I cannot remember the full scope of what she said, but her take on doing this was that those who tested below average should not simply be given up on, because they may have mastered in areas where the middle and above had failed, or struggled with.

I will need to dig up more on her,

I believe she was a guest on Tavis Smileys State of the Black Union summit...

I was a low scorer though out my youth in written test.

But i was very creative, rich imagination and adventurer. I have done more then many. and a dam good teacher of martial Arts!

So test alone, are not always good indicator for our capabilities.

I think any parents of children who decide to accept these invitations should research/visit/ask questions of these schools to decide which would be a better "fit" for their child and would offer the best SUPPORT for their child to succeed academically and be comfortable and relaxed in their school environment.

    According to the article...

I think each school should be prepared to meet any challenges or needs of the students who accept the invitations and to work with their parents to facilitate their children's success.

    THESE ARE THE SCHOOLS>>>

    WHITNEY YOUNG MAGNET

    NORTHSIDE COLLEGE PREP

    WALTER PAYTON COLLEGE PREP

    JONES COLLEGE PREP
