Flipping past old memories, I saw him; young and handsome
standing with his hand artfully slipped into his pocket,
strong, self-confident and assured.
He had that self-satisfied look bordering on arrogance,
but it was only determined confidence and knowledge.

The determination; jaw set, solid as tempered steel,
impressed, my admiring eyes watched wondering
where was Dorian Gray these days, and why he had
disappeared before the painting dried.

As the must of old pages flipped past my nose,
I was taken by all the images my eyes didn't see,
the ones where everything is so clear and honest,
and I wondered, whatever happened to me?
