Just wanted to let the tri-state area know about this brilliant sculpture at the DaHesh Museum in manhattan...
Cordier Sculpture of peoples from the Sudan, and other parts of Africa
Cordier was an ethnographic sculpture in late l800's and eary l900's..
check it out...the respect and love of our faces...the detail of the work is extraordinary.
Amazing to see the detail in the hairstyles (we had dreds back then also), the eyes, the lips...really good. definitely worth the trip
the DaHesh was founded by Lebonese and is located at:
580 Madison Ave. (at 56th street)
nyc..

(museum store is what you see...museum itself is below on the basement floor)
