the boys in the hood
lost beyond definition
running from themselves
So true! But you know a lot of us run from ourselves because
it's so much easier to imitate than to create or originate. We have to work at being ourselves cause noone can do us better. Like DMX said "Do You"

the complete story from begining to end on life in the hood for young black males. I felt these three lines. For those of us who are concerned about the future of the young black male (homicide is the leading cause of death), this poem is very, very heartfelt.
This Haiku can effectively give those readers who cannot relate this type of life, a momentarily glimspe of life in the hood. One that hopefully will stick in their minds.
*May America stop running from herself, in dealing with her hood*
