For the rest of the week only nice things will be said about fathers and men. For this time period, any that say anything bad about a father or man, shall be ridiculed, ignored and reported to the moderators.

    Let the praisefest begin!

WELL YALL GONE HAVE TO REPORT ME...CAUSE FIRST OF ALL, IF ONE IS A FATHER EVERY DAY THEN WHY ARE WE BUYING INTO "WHEN THE EUROPEAN SAID FATHERS SHOULD BE HONORED?" SECONDLY, IF ONE IS A MAN HE'S A MAN EVERYDAY. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN A FATHER AND A DADDY? I KNOW A LOT OF FATHERS BUT VERY FEW DADDY'S....OR DO I KNOW A LOT OF DADDY'S AND VERY FEW FATHERS? OBVIOUSLY YOU CAN SEE THE CONFUSION I AM IN DEPENDING ON ONES DEFINITION....BUT ONE OF THESE JOKERS AIN'T S**T AND THE OTHER ONE IS DOING THEIR JOB....NOW WHICH ONE IS IT?

    If you remember...

I've had many issues I've expressed poetically about my dad that wasn't pleasant. It's been a few years since I've been on Destee and today...I want to share.

Even though I was abandoned and neglected by my father at the age of 2, he's been a major influence on how I live my life today. I bashed him for a long time but he deserves credit where it's due. If it weren't for him introducing me to /signing me up for my first African dance class...if I never saw him juice fresh fruits and vegetables...if I never noticed the books on African and African-American history and culture...if I never met any of his women friends...God knows...what kind of woman would I be. Would I own a business now that focuses on Holistic Wellness Therapy? Divine Sistah Spa Retreats? Organic Shea Butter Blends? Teacher / Educator / Performer of Traditional West African Dance? Most importantly, a lover of the lord worshipping Him with the gift of dance?

We learn by emulating our parents...I am a product of my dad. Both good and bad qualities. I thank him for the good.

Thank you Kem. I'd been meditating on these thoughts early yesterday morning.
