the sky was endless black that night
    dreamy dreamless black
    without a ray of light
    without a star
    and i could see
    nothing
    then, i did not know
    how or why
    but stars began
    to leak
    through the night sky
first here . . .then there
    pinpricking the heavens
letting the sleeping sun seep through
night became brighter than the brightest day
as i held up my hands and
waved them about in a starstruck way
like the joy of a blind person seeing
    tonight, for the first time
    in a long dark night
    i could see.

Loved the way you brought this, I could almost see those stars appearing where darkness loomed. Well posed.
