The mission of the Save Nubia Project (SNP) is to help raise national and international awareness about the pending flooding of the central areas of the ancient Kushite and Nubian civilizations in the Sudan. There are a series of dams (from the 2nd through 5th cataracts) scheduled for construction, each of which will cause the Nile River to back up and create a reservoir and flood countless ancient archaeological sites and displace well over 100,000 local Sudanese people. Thus, the Save Nubia Project’s task is to document that the dam construction areas in northern and central Sudan are valuable World Heritage Sites that are in danger of being destroyed, and should be preserved.

They are at it again. To destroy our history before it can be told. Keep us from knowing the real truth of our great people. To keep us and the world in the dark as to who we are.

My hopes and prayers go up and out for my distant african relations...

But we do have issues and problems on the homefront to resolve ourselves...

Anyway if there is a link, I'll post it on my facebook page...

Had Nasser etc. been 'our' enemies, the other ancient wonders we attribute to our history would not have been saved, so let's pray that the present day post Muburek regime mainstays are rational/reasonable people as well...

As my african muslim ancestors and converts would say: Inshallah...(God willing)...

    In the Spirit of Sankofa,

... If you are speaking of this guy:

He's no longer the President and may even be dead:

Muhammad Hosni El Sayed Mubarak (Arabic: محمد حسني السيد مبارك‎, Arabic pronunciation: [mæˈħæmːæd ˈħosni ˈsæjjed moˈbɑːɾˤɑk], Muḥammad Ḥusnī Sayyid Mubārak; born 4 May 1928) is a former Egyptianpolitician and military commander. He served as the fourth President of Egypt from 1981 to 2011.

On 2 June 2012, Mubarak was sentenced to life imprisonmentby an Egyptian court. After sentencing, he was reported to have suffered a series of health crises. As of 20 June 2012, multiple sources reported that he was very ill, with some reporting that he was in a coma, others stating that he had had a stroke or had been on life support.[13]
