" Santa … A False Christmas Present:"
In John 1:51 Jesus says that he is the "Stairway to Heaven": "I tell you the truth," He said. "You will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway between heaven and earth." But to the dismay on many, Satan makes the same claim at Christmas time.
Otherwise said, Satan as the beloved Santa wants to unseat Jesus as the God of Christmas by stealing his birthday from him!
The background for Jesus' claim as The Stairway to Heaven reaches a high point in Genesis 28 where we see Jacob running from Esau after having stolen his brothers birthright. "At sundown he arrived at a good place to set up camp and stopped there for the night. Jacob found a stone to rest his head against and lay down to sleep. As he slept, he dreamed of a stairway (or ladder) that reached from the earth up to heaven. And he saw the angels of God going up and down the stairway."
This is the same Stairway to Heaven our forefathers visualized as they wrote the famous song, "We Are Climbing Jacobs' Ladder," that expressed our desire to be free from oppression, too.
It continues: "At the top of the stairway stood the Lord. …" Or as Luke 1 recounts, at the top of the stairway stood the Lord Jesus.
Remember what Elizabeth said to Mary about the birth of her son, Jesus? And by the way, the name Jesus means "The God who Saves" or "The Lord Is My Salvation"
And, too, I must say. Jesus used the term "Son of God' to say that as God, he has come to earth in a human body. As Philippians 2:7 says: " … but (he) emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness.
Verses 42-43 of Luke 1 says it this way: "In a loud voice she exclaimed, 'Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus! And why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?'" Or that the mother of the God of Jacob should come to me.
What more can I say?
Then as I said, the other Lord we see at Christmas time is Satan, the one who calls himself Santa Clause. 2 Thessalonians 2 says of him: "Don’t let anyone deceive you, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of sin is revealed, the man doomed to destruction."
It continues: "He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sits in the Temple of God, saying that he is God."
Isaiah 14 echoes: "For you (Satan, i.e., Santa Clause) said to yourself, 'I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God's stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High." Translated: "I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the most high Jesus." That's why he appears at Christmas time!
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says it this way. "If the Gospel is hidden, it is hidden to those who are lost. Satan, the God of this world has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. …" That is to say, people just don't want to believe that Santa Clause is Satan, the false Lord who opposes Jesus! Or the false God who fools our children by giving them toys and other gifts.
See, the preachers in our churches are afraid to admit that what I am saying about Satan as Santa Clause as is true. If they did they would lose their church members. And their collection plates would be gone, too. So they just sit there and say nothing while their members put another God in the place of Jesus, all the while saying that all is well and the children are happy.
Genesis 28 continues : "... and he said, 'I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham, and the God of your father Isaac. …. Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, 'Surely the Lord is in this place, and I wasn't even aware of it."
See, what Jesus said in John 1:51 about "the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway between heaven and earth" is a spiritual statement saying that as Jacobs God, he is the one and only way to heaven. And that he was born for this purpose. John 14 says it this way. "Don't let your hearts be troubled. You trust in God, now trust in me." Translated: "Now trust in me because I am God."
And then he says: "There is more than enough room in my Fathers house." Translated: The Father is my other name so don't' be troubled about who I am!
Thus, Jesus conclude by saying: "If it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that where I am you may be also."
But as I said, as Satan, i.e., Santa makes this same claim at Christmas. But he can't!
