    Sitting on the stoop
Reminiscing about the good old times
    That aren’t so good anymore
    Wife died too young
Along with the child she was carrying in her belly
Silent grief is slowly killing his soul
    Sad old Red
    His heart is still broken
    From loss
    Pain
    And loneliness
    Sad sad old Red
    after fifteen long years
    still cries at night
    In his empty bed
    Yearning
    For what once was
    And can never be again
    Red is beyond sadness
    Beyond hurt and heartache
He is in a place of anticipation
Hoping that one day, any day, this day
    The pain will end
That he can look at a little girl playing in the street
    And not breakdown
That he can get through a day
    An hour
    A minute
    Without thinking of Sarah
    Sad old Red
Wishes for a just a moment of Glad
Just one moment that can make him
Turn the corners of his mouth in an upward direction
Instead of trying to bite his lip
    To keep then from quivering
    Sad tormented old Red
    Sitting on the stoop
Reminiscing about the good old times
    That aren’t so good anymore

Some things are hard to shake, just takes your spirit under, and you brought that feeling home.
