sacrifights

tears have fallen and seasons have passed
feelings came and they went
how much longer will this last
If we’re emotionally spent

hearts get broken
and we make amends
but 3 months later, we at it again
fighting a war where no one wins
my Patience and commitment are wearing thin

a vicious cycle of love and hate
a painful routine of human mistakes
leaves the soul swollen with a bitter taste
and a relationship slowing going to waste

a harsh reality replaces the puppy love
blank stares and cold shoulders
replace the kisses and hugs
crocodile tears turn into emotional floods
we had it in the past
...but that ain’t enough

yesterday’s sun won’t dry today’s rain
memories of fun won't subdue the pain
what is and what was are two different things
forever is fleeting with each destroyed dream

Each passing day grows harder and harder
I’m here for my child ‘cause she needs a father
Don’t want to fight or feud in the courts
Over weekend visits and a lil child support
Don’t want my princess crying or wrestling with hurt
I’ll sacrifice my life to this relationship first
