I've briefly seen the hooplah that Russell Simmons has been making over certain words being banned from hip hop. For example, Ni**as, The B***ches, Hoes. One reporter quoted Simmons saying that he blamed hip-hop for influencing that radio personality to call a female college basketball team "nappy headed hoes".

Hmmm...what do u guys make of that? Personally, I call it hooplah. Although I dont agree with everything said in hip hop musik. It's a form of expression. That rules out any censorship, where the musik is concerned. And as for the radio jerky, he's a grown man, he wanted to call them nappy headed hoes because he's an ignoramus.

how can you blame something that you have helped to create and benefit from for the attitudes that people have? Don Imus felt this way before Hip Hop was created, and he probably still feels the way he does...Russell Simmons is wrong
