Sister Sharazad Ali tells us Black women have not been under the rule of Black men in 500 years.,

This is true but sistah is leaving out an important element. The readiness of many Black men to rule over Black women.

Until a man has rule over himself his attempts to rule over a woman will be nothing more than an expression of his insecurities. Ruling over oneself does not necessarily mean having wealth, riches or white privilege. If how a man treats his woman is any indication then white men are very insecure just in a different way from Black men. Many Black men are afraid they will never have what white men have. White men are afraid they will lose what they have so their treatment of women and everyone else is an effort to ensure they will never suffer such a lose.

This is why some brothas run to white woman because there aren't too many Black women who are willing to tiptoe around the egos of men who cannot provide for or protect them but still insist on being obeyed and depended on.

I don't say these things to criticize Black men but to help you understand that which Ali is unable to express because of her Muslim worldview. Why trade the standards of one slave mast for the standards of another and expect to find the answer you need to heal?

Love your women as we are and let us be who we are: strong, resourceful, resolute, independent. We're not going to lose what we have or dumb down to save your egos. It's just not going to happen. But we will support your efforts to get your own. Yes, there are many sistas who have a long way to go as well. People who are dedicated to their own personal growth will recognize each other and gravitate towards each other.

He who conquers the enemy within need not fear the enemy without.
