I travel these routes and suffer shame. Shackled to my fellowman, that has no name. Tasting my vomit, as I thrash round and round, wanting to scream but hearing no sound. Tight and compressed become my lungs, the cries of slave children in the air they hung. I smell the stench of stagnant fear and shame, and my fellowman beside me dies of asphyxiation and pain. My eyes become blurred, my heart becomes heavy, I hear the splash of water, another live body disposed because of dysentery. I travel this route, and pray to die. for reaching mainland brings slavery by and by. I travel these routes, and hope to see, those of my people who survived with me. I travel these routes, and as I close my eyes, my spirit leaves my prison, to a happiness on high....

You brought us back there with those vivid images, yes, those that survived probably did use their minds to take them away. Flow on.

reflections of pain comes from beautiful beings.

let this piece be known and heard as far
    as possible!
our people suffered and died horrendously, but
here we are... existing, growing royally as it once was.

    l love this one passionately
