Mom, I bought you some roses
    And believe this is true
Even though I don’t tell you often
    I’ll always LOVE you.

    This dozen’s price
    Could never compare
With all that you’ve given me
From your love to your prayers.

First, I have to thank God…
Because he blessed me, with you
    A mother who cares
About my mind, body and spirit, too.

    The essence of your being
    Is truly that of LOVE
The strength I’ve watched you display
Could only come from God above.

    There’s never been a doubt
About your love, in my mind
Through the good and the bad
It’s withstood the test of time.

    So mom, enjoy these roses
    And all that they say
    Because my love for you
    Will last always.

Poem by James A. Davis, Jr.

    dedicated to my loving mother:
