until May 8th 2015 ......26 years 1 day later Rose with 3.0 seconds bloom to the hero and
buzzer beater 3 pointer to crash the Cavs as now called Da shot2 and rock the united center with
    a chilling buzz.

Just realized these were both done to Cleveland

    Michael Jordan - The Shot

    VERSUS

    Derrick Rose - Buzzer Beater

    Similarities and differences...

    Similarities:

    • Bulls vs. Cleveland
    • Three seconds left in the game
    • Buzzer beater to win the game

    Differences:

    • Jordan was in Cleveland, Rose was in Chicago
    • Jordan hit a two pointer, Rose hit a three pointer
    • Jordan's Bulls were down 1, Rose's Bulls were tied
    • Jordan hit the series winning shot to defeat the Cavs in the series 3-2, Rose hit game winner to put the Bulls up 2-1 in a 7 game series (they play best of 7 in all series now)

In other words, if Jordan missed that shot, they are out of the playoffs.
If Rose misses that shot... they go into overtime, and at worst, have 4 more games to come back and win the series.

That was an unbelievable shot from Rose, hand in face and all...

But not sure if it can really compare to a make or break shot from Jordan, down 100 - 99 with 3 seconds to go, in order to avoid elimination.

Ehlo's reaction is classic, and says alot about what that shot was worth.
Like someone just punched him in the gut hard.

Cavs thought they had it wrapped up and were moving on, but the original "black mamba" struck again.
    Michael Jordan Over Craig Ehlo

Are you saying that "chill" will still be there if the Bulls lose the next 3 games and get eliminated from the playoffs?

    Different era, and different shot.

If he would have missed the shot and the Bulls went on and won in overtime anyway... they still win the game.
I don't really see any serious comparison other than it was a game winning buzzer beater against Cleveland.

Happy for Rose though, after all those injuries and questions about if he could come back and be "Derrick Rose", he has surely come back and made Irving look like he was wearing 60 lb boots.

"it's not that it was something to compare"

    HUH???

I must have misread the post and viewed a picture of something different then... because it surely looked like a comparison to me, I just broke down the comparisons.

Yea, happy for Rose... but let's not blow this out of proportion in the attempt to compare it to Michael Jordan sending the Cleveland Cavaliers packing in 1989.

If the Cavs beat them in 2 more games, nobody but a "Bulls" fan will be thinking about that shot (it was an amazing shot, not taking that away from Rose, and he played lights out).

Ask any Cubs fan how happy they were about Sammy Sosa's 66 home runs in 1998, and they will probably have that as their only memory because they got swept in the first series of his record tying season.

Was Sammy Sosa a good/great player? Probably
Is Derrick Rose a good/great player? Probably

But neither is comparable to Michael Jordan, nor "The Shot"...

...and Sammy held a home run record, that is until he was overshadowed when McGwire hit 70 in the same year.
Somewhat like Sosa hitting a game winning grand slam during a tied game in the bottom of the ninth of the first game of a series. Yes, it is a great moment, but let's see what happens when the pressure is really on.

One shot doesn't make a star or a champion, unless it's in the Championships.
Savor the moment, but don't forget Lebron is playing for the opposing team, with at most 4 games remaining.

Rose is back, which can only be a good thing for Chicagoans, so I understand.
But put that Michael Jordan stuff back in the bottle for now, media can hype up a paper cut.

Paul Pierce makes my point even better, have a look at what he did today against Atlanta

Paul Pierce game winner against Atlanta

    Pretty much the same scenario.
Who can Washington compare this with?

    Hmmm, Jordan?
Jordan played for the Washington Wizards

Guess we can compare Paul Pierce and Michael Jordan now?
Remember when Pierce used to be known for doing this

Pierce game winning buzzer beater 1
Pierce game winning buzzer beater 2
Pierce game winning buzzer beater 3

    The Shot 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12?

    Let's look at the comparisons

    Paul Pierce vs. Derrick Rose

not comparing enjoying the game winning buzzer beater I don't compare any player
I always tell people not to do that every player is unique in there way and era of time
James hit a buzzer beater today as well it was a great move and shot but I didn't enjoy it
because I'm not a Cleveland fan nor am I a Washington fan so I never looked a paul's

only thing getting blown out is the thread here I was just enjoying a win out loud as a bull fan
one that will post any win they have , praise the players go or bad........
DieHard Bulls fan nothing more nothing less brother .......the game is gone now

    Da Shot2?

Again, this was based on Jordan's "The Shot", so to say this was not a comparison when I read "Jordan" in the first post... it is what it is.

Not to mention the image of Jordan side by side with Rose, yet this is not a comparison?

Enjoy it, but don't try to deny this was an attempt to compare Rose's shot to Jordan's shot.

    • And how can it be called "Da Shot 2", when Jordan owns the monikers to The Shot II and The Shot III?
--if anything this is "Da Shot 4"--

    Just saying brother, just saying
For what it's worth, I wouldn't mind seeing Rose and the Bulls win the title, but not because I am a Bulls fan.

And if that image was taken from ESPN's Sports Nation, they should take it down.
As you stated and Lebron James' buzzer beater...

Here, have another look at it...

And Lebron hit his shot with half as much time to do so... 1.5 seconds, ouch!

How does that Derrick Rose buzzer beater game winning shot feel now?
