for the one who taught me beauty inside-out...and Nina Simone...

    I heard about your passing
and my heart is still paralyzed
    frozen in my chest
there was no way for me
    to gather myself in time
when they laid you to rest

    Ronald...

I just want to thank you
    "posthumously"
    for being the one who
    helped me see
    that all beauty is not
    measured physically
    and real treasure
    can't be perceived
    visibly...

    Oh...Ronald...

    your wide eyes
    & sweet, shy smile
    resembled a young
    James Baldwin, to me
    & you spoke Spanish
    so elegantly....

    though you live in my
    memory
    ...I shall always
    miss you, terribly

    paz, mi amigo....

I love the way you honor your friends...dead and alive. I felt this one very much.

Sorry for your loss, MMA.
