Rock to the left of me
    hard place to the right

    Staying centered
not seeking a trek to explore
the moon, or an excursion below sea level
middle ground is what I'm striving for
Rock to the left of me
    Hard place to the right

Don't get me wrong, being air borne,
    whisking away in the stratosphere
can lead a soul to ecstasy, but I don't
relish the distance from there to here
when the tank is on E
and the impact of the crash
    would be a catastrophe
Rock to the left of me
    Hard place to the right

And then there's dredging too low
    another no no
in that depressed, woe is me
Why did she say so and so,
    When will he finally do
what he said he intended to,
How come they can't accept me as I am?
They say that life doesn't give us more than
    we can handle, but d a m n...
Rock to the left of me
    Hard place to the right

    Oowee
    Lord have mercy
I ain't even tryin to hear that see
If experience has taught me anything
    Too many highs and lows
    will ultimately
    be the death of me
And so I have discovered that
the best way to maintain my sanity
is to tread the middle ground
So if you're truly looking for me
that's where I can be found....
Rock to the left of me
    Hard place to the right

You know that's right, girl. And it takes a person a while to learn this powerful lesson. You expressed it beautifully. :toast:

Oh how I feel this one, sometimes the box I fall in...closes up at times, but I soar, and I always try to aim for the stars. wonderful write up, yeah I like this one.
