Busboys and poets Restaurant is the center of Artsville, the arts district of Hyattsville, Maryland. Every Thursday they have open mic night, so while I was on the east coast I popped by with my cousin Mel as my business manager for the night. I read 2 poems from my book, Speaking for the Child: An Autobiography and a Challenge, and the crowd responded with a standing ovation. I also sold two books that night.

My aunt told me that one guy asked her if that was my first time there. When she told him yes, he said, "Give it up, Rhonda. She has lost her virginity tonight." Well, I don't know about all that. I have stage presence from being the daughter of a professional singer

I made a video from the pictures we took that night.
