    Hello Family,

I'm hoping that Sister Daroc will see this thread and click on it.

Sister Daroc ... this is what you have in your signature ...

revenge is a meal best served cold

    that tickled me Sister!

But also has me wondering ... how do you serve revenge cold?

What does that mean? Anyone have any ideas, before Sister Daroc responds?

    Thanks in advance.

i can't really answer that ...but always heard that and once told
to serve up a cold revenge is to feed the wrongdoer/s with a cold
mind and hardness moreso a cold shoulder is the satisfaction of
    revenge without remorse.........

but i'm sure this not what she mean ....!

to be honest i really havent thought about the meaning behind it
i was watching some special on tv some time last week on - i think the cases of Brown v. Board of Ed- and i heard someone say my sig-
i just liked the way it sounds
but if i had to give an explaination:

i wld back up rich's - the worst revenge is ignoring the problem- and the person- oi thats get under folks skin- its wat you least expect when ur mad or someone else is mad at u- like a mean served cold- everything we eat thats good is usually hot( except for liek cold pizza or somin)- ignoring someone has no temperature...idk

thanks for asking- but i really enjoyed my last signature- the statue of liberty is a prostitute( the last poets)

Destee, this proverb has Italian origins, I believe - from Machiavelli, if I'm not mistaken... It simply means that one who has a vendatta against another, should act on that vendetta after allowing the victim time to forget that the vendetta is still warm in the heart of his enemy.

A good example of this is Don Corleone returning to his hometown to kill the man who killed his father in the GodFather... That old man had long forgetten the man he'd killed, and didn't even remember Vito Corleone, the son who'd left the village of Korleone as a 7-year old child... Vengenance was, therefore, served cold, without the victim knowing what was even on the menu, so to speak...

    Peace!

I thought it meant that one should be totally ruthless (cold) in how one took revenge.
