Six feet into the ground
That's where bodies rest or lay
After the souls have departed from them
And gone their destined way
And left many alive and in this world
Confused as to what has gone down
Many minds and hearts stay clouded in confusion
Behind a smile, a blank stare or a frown
Left in a cloak of darkness
Of emptiness and gloom
With just a plethora of questions
And empty space and room
That needs to be filled with understanding
And wisdom to enhance continued living
With age old lessons of sages
Fortified with meaningful giving
And harvesting the good from living seconds
With inner eyes keeping well in sight
The love of the Creator through serving human kind
And moving always in the right
The Creator's Grace and Mercy saves us in this earth
And receives us when we have departed this life
In a state much superior in a state of rebirth
For those blessed to see in this life
Clearer sight in a new existence, discerning
"Surely from the Creator we all have come
And to the Creator we all are returning"
It matters not the length of a life
It's the quality that paves the way
When asked how long we tarried
Our answer, "just a day or part of a day"
From the time that we entered into this world
This thing was certain no matter that we cry
We all who live to understand have to witness the death of others
And one day we too will die
Without knowledge, that death looks final
Like a time of an end to all
But it's really a returning, obedience to the call
Into another existence not seen from this life
For which the wise prepare themselves it's clear
As evidence has always pointed it out
This returning is promised and sure
That's where bodies rest or lay
After the souls have departed from them
And gone their destined way
And left many alive and in this world
Confused as to what has gone down
