Today spiritual sustenance is really what everyone needs and many are seeking. To find it, we, as an African people, must return to the ancient laws and the natural organic principles of the ways of our fathers. Many of these natural organic principles and laws are embodied in the ancient royal art of astrology, the religion, art and science of our African ancestors.

The priest/astrologers of ancient Egypt named the sky above them “Scarab” at the time of the Summer Solstice. “Scarab” is the Egyptian root word for “crab,” which is Latin for “Cancer.” The Summer Solstice marks the Sun’s highest point from the celestial equator on the 21st of June. Its longitude in the Heavens at this cardinal point is 0° Cancer, as measured on the ecliptic along the zodiac belt.

In ancient Egyptian eschatology this point in the Heavens was known as “The Gate of Men,” through which souls descended from Heaven into human bodies. Thus the continent of Africa, our Motherland, is ruled by Cancer, the sign of birth, motherhood, and the family tradition...

The story of all mankind is written in the stars, and each nation has its star to follow. Because we are a Cancer people, our celestial body is the Moon, the Earth’s satellite and cosmic ruler of the sign Cancer. Because of her inherent need to nurture all things that come into the keen of her feeling and supersensitive nature, the Moon’s principles are fruitfulness and nourishment. Her main function is motherhood and domestication, and her primary subjects are females and all things that require water for growth (Cancer is a water sign)...

The Moon is said to wield peculiar powers in her changes, including the ability to contact unseen worlds. Therefore, those influenced by lunar vibrations are endowed with a kind of primeval receptivity. This allows us to recall survival techniques from our ancestral past...

All important matters and endeavors that we wish to grow and succeed in should be initiated during the time of the New Moon, for she will have just left her superior conjunction with the Sun, imbued with the vitality and authority bestowed upon her by the Giver of Life. The Moon's best signs are Cancer and Pisces, and the earth sign Taurus, in which she is exalted. The Earth’s satellite tenants each of the 12 signs of the zodiac for approximately 2½ days.

As a Cancer people, our first and most immediate concern is a dedicated resolve to utilize our resources and talents to assure our children an adequate education for the future. No sacrifice is too great for the saving of a nation. Intellectually, we must focus on service to family, friends and neighbors. Proper diet, preferably organic and vegetarian, is also very important. We must establish harmony, peace and equity in our homes, and all domestic affairs should be balanced fairly.

We must awaken to the fact that for us functional love is art, and art is love because we adore its power. We should relate to our environment as we would our parents. The reward for this is freedom. Our spiritual intuition is erratic, astounding and unexpected, yet amazingly accurate and reliable when we relinquish our wills and allow ourselves to become obedient instruments of the Divine will of The Creator.

Institutions assure nations of a place in the world. We must fight to save ours, or there will be no sanctuary – only sorrow and regret. Our ambition should be leadership in all career endeavors. Our hopes, wishes and aspirations can only be realized through stable, resourceful friends who have experiences similar to ours...

Our motivations are dual: The lower self, which covets that which it already has, and the higher self, which communicates universally and delivers the messages from the gods via the still, small voice within. As an African people we must develop our minds in the natural arts of living and survival as we face the coming Age of Aquarius, which is not a sign of feeling, but of an awakening to individual responsibility. Mankind now stands in the present moment simultaneously looking back at a time that was, and forward to a time that is yet to be. Timing is the all-important element for everything undertaken now.

The vibrations of the sign Aquarius possess powerful virtue, influence and efficacy. It is the sign of truth. The ancient Egyptian priest/astrologers taught that the vibrations of Aquarius alter the air and the seasons in a strange and secret manner. Our solar system is about to enter the constellation Aquarius (thus the Aquarian Age), therefore great and drastic changes – along all lines – will slowly materialize. Beliefs and opinions, held only because they were those of our recent forebears, are fast going into the scrap-heap of old ideas. Study and concentration – a wish to know – brought about by the initial stirring of the inner self, will eventually present the reason for all things to the consciousness of man, the Black man in particular...
