Black Poetry : Remembering.....

I’m a poet so keep that in mind as a black writer
I was better known for hot nights as all nighters
Smoked my own bluntness with no lighter
So for my style to just be puffed puffed n passed was a no sighter
I flow with a glow like I’m edged with a yellow highlighter

I'm really not bragging but when I last dragged inn’ed
I was still in style without my pants dragging
Now I flow without a band but some still jump on the wagon
Some were worn out like they were jet lagging

I'm so ready willing and able that I can still get it in with children banging on lunch tables
I flow without records n labels
They just mess with your style and sell u dreams like fables

unsigned hype since I was thirteen
but even then back then I was spitting a hot 16 :flamet:
bars came in abundance like they were on corners in the hood
but not even the Corner or the Wire could tell the tales of where Baltimore Stood
My project knowledge was on the final crossfire
2 years later my Project knowledge was bound to retire

My production was 2-D
The hottest rapper was Aqui
Now I'm writing n dropping the MC
I'm now adding n dropping some poetry
Now I'm remembering the days of how it used to be
I remember when it was just done 4 free
Now I'm rebuilding this feeling that was lost within ME!

Today I thank God for building DESTEE!
