Lewis was a 23-year-old firebrand, a founder of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, when he joined King and four other civil rights leaders at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York to plan and announce the Washington demonstration. The others were Whitney Young of the National Urban League; A. Philip Randolph of the Negro American Labor Council; James L. Farmer Jr., of the interracial Congress of Racial Equality; and Roy Wilkins of the NAACP.

John Lewis, MLK jr. and the Civil Rights movement was built on the principle of non violence. After hearing MLK jr.'s niece talking about the soul force and how it was the hallmark of non violence yesterday on tv I looked it up and found that not only is it linked with Gandhi but that the first Tirthankara Rushabhdev originated the idea of nonviolence over a million years ago. For most, this would be impossible but according to black roots science black people are billions of years old and the creators of the universe. Gandhi developed saryagraha 'holding truth' based on the hindu doctrine of Ahimsa or non injury to living things. Satyagraha is peaceful but persistent resistence against evil and injustice. MLK jr. called it Soul Force - 'we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with Soul Force'. Gandhi, MLK jr. and Lewis believed this force was like planting a seed that would eventually re-shape the social order. There is a pro LGBTQ group called Soul Force that uses this to shape public opinion in the United States. Gandhi, MLK jr. believed that the actions taken in the present reshapes the social order in like form. And that it's fundamentally irrational to use violence to acheive a peaceful society. The concept of nonviolent action is to create a social dynamic or political movement that can create a national or international dialogue which effects social change without necessarily winning over those who wish to maintain the status Quo.' From wikipedia. Another form of Ahisma is Aikido, self defence. This is more aligned with Malcolm X. 'The best defence is one where the victim is respected and not injured. It focuses on neutralising the immaturity, assumotions and aggressive strivings of the attacker. In matters of self defence ancient hindu texts Tahtinen suggest self defence is appropriate, criminals are not protected by the rule of Ahimsa, and hindu scriptors support the use of violence against an armed attacker.' White Europeans are probably seen as the historical armed attackers since they supposely discovered America, but we know that that is incorrect. They conquered America, they are invaders which is why the Mexicans are rushing the border because they are trying to take back their land. This seem to be a form of Ahisma/Aikido and might fall in the category of self defence. The hispanic population in America is increasing. And because of this increase they are creating social change mainly in the political spectrum. Hispanics overwelmingly support democrats. Thus, we will eventually have a democratic president who will try to bring about socialism in the United States on a wider scale. So, it seems that African Americans should engage and talk more to hispanics since they are driving social change by Ahisma through mass migration, rushing the borders as well as fighting back racism and prejudice from the institutions created by the Europeans when they invaded. Most blacks in the US did not come from Africa. Most are native to America. Louis Gates, the host of Finding Your Roots, recently admitted that only about 800, 000 slaves from Africa came to America which is well below the 12 million that was originally told. Maybe it's time to openly educate hispanics that most Blacks are also native to America and not from Africa?

When the Europeans came over they established institutions that suppressed us. And we happily joined in on the suppression by joining some of these institutions. The only way we can fight back is to build our own institutions that goes against theirs. Currently our most powerful institution is music. All forms of popular music- country, rock, jazz, pop, soul, hip hop was created by Black folks. Hip hop is in virtually every country around the world. If we create powerful and positive hip hop that goes against the institutions that suppress us I believe that we will eventually be free and our hardships in America and around the World will vanish.
