Was it forced on them during slavery?
Excellent question sister...It wasn't forced but it was fed to our ancestors. It gave them hope and something to believe in at a time when they felt that they had nothing else..They clung to it because it was through prayer and the teachings that a divine being would eventually bring them salvation. If not here, then in another life...(We were hoodwinked) But today what I find peculiar is: How in the world could any sane African/Black person of today continue to embrace the religion of an oppressor which was used to justify the enslavement and cruel and inhumane treatment of our African ancestors..There is something psychologically off here....Especially when one knows that Christianity is a story borrowed from other biblical, mythological and historical writings of Antiquity..Reminds me of The Stockholm Syndrome to a degree..Why do blacks Practice Christianity? Was it forced on them during slavery?
