    Sitting quietly in the meadow
    Leaning back against the willow
    I close my eyes to let the sounds
    Of sparrows dance with the breeze;

    The brook is quiet today allowing
    A few trickles of chance embrace
    The stones standing strong in the
    Midst of the warm sunny morning;

    I like to lift my head to the sky with
    Eyes closed tight so that I can see the
    Brightness of the sun illuminating the
    Darkness within the serene meditation;

    The air is crisp with a scent of jasmine
    Moving across my way leaving traces
    Of pollen on my brow as the creatures
    Of the land find way to sit around me;

    Have you ever heard the symphony
    of Leaves holding tight to their trees
    when the breeze changes from a calm
    embrace to a strong, swift grasp?

    Today I hold in my hand the last remnant
    Of a day once shared with another, a small
    Reminder of things that could be, a stone
    Of precious worth glimmering from the sun;

    I take one look at this connection to me
    The strings to a heart once entrusted to
    one who wore it proud before I Release
    it to rest in the depths of the brook;

    and I sit back into my place of comfort
    closing my eyes once again, inhaling joy
    deep within my lungs to replace the pain
    hidden on the wings of a sweet exhale…
