    Do you see her?
She would look in the mirror
    Puzzled and lost….
Tears would run and the pain
Tore her up….like burning flames of hell
She didn’t know how to escape the darkness
As the gray clouds closed in more
Lost couldn’t find her way out
    Because you wouldn’t let her
Wanting out but the opening seemed misplaced
For each step up, she was taken back down
Soul was cold the bitterness had took hold
Her fears began to mold her
    Do you see her?

That girl that became a woman
    In her mid 30’s…
Now watch her bloom like a black rose
    Free within her nature
    And you didn’t see her
But she spoke loud and clear…

    Release me
    Just release me
In the wind, I want to be free
To love and give all of me
    Release my soul
You took the girl in me never let her grow
Kept me out of the light
    My heart is dark
    You took my air
    I cant breath
    Trying to think for me
    And when things are wrong
You always pointed the finger at me
Why do you make it so hard?

Fussing and yelling telling me I am no good
That you don't want to be here
Yet, you wont release me..Just sit
Holding me down, taking my dreams
    Making me think I can't
    When I can....

Now I can tell you to go to hell
    I left along time ago
    And you didnt even notice
    Caught up in your self
    Making threats that
Had me scared to say bye
    Just release me…
    Release me......

    I found that opening
    Within the mirror

Some just make it hard cause they can...Keep on stepping up those stairs, each step releasing the power within in you. This was a very freeing poem.
