It was cold that day as I sat by
the fireplace and thought of
you from our memories past

Gazing into the glow of the fire's
brightly lit song,

I first smiled for you with an
outer appreciation...

as the flames blushingly spelled your
name across the ceiling

Wanting to touch you once again,
I held my hands out before the
fire's warmth and felt your presence
surround me and capture my senses

The smell of you permeated my
thoughts and became the hardest
passion to ever forget, not that I
would ever fail to remember the
when of us

I looked into my soul's mirror and
saw such a beautiful reflection of
you that I shivered in desire for the
comfort of your affection

Entranced by my fascination of you,
I became one with your sweet melody
as my mind danced to the fire's rhythm

Holding you in my arms never seemed
so real, so needed to caress my heart's
solace

Reincarnating the tenderness of you in
my burning memory so filled with love,
I was moved when the fire's heated center
burst into a thousand radiant sparks

Shedding quiet, yet emotional tears of
forlorn folly,

I smiled again with a deeply felt
inner interpretation…

believing that at that precise moment in time,
I felt your heart had overflowed with love
a thousand times over as had my own…

and once again you were within me…

where you belonged…
