Been working on this for a while now.. Cannot get it right.. Al is hard hard man to follow.. His effortlessness is as heavy as a ton of bricks to me..almost have to completely restyle it just to be able to get through it.. Anyway, this is one of my better attempts at getting it right..

    I love it....
You have a different sound and tune then Al Green, kinda heard where you were struggling, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening.

thank you.. I try.. I even tried to change the key.. but that didnt work either.. I dont even know why I practice it.. everytime I do it for an audience it changes anyway.. I need to get up off the piano and stand up and sing it.. thats my goal this year.. to stop hiding behind my instruments..

Why do you feel your hiding behind an instrument?

I know I am.. its comfortable.. Im controlling everything.. the groove.. the harmony.. the whole feeling.. and singing is anchored in that control of all the other elements.. so I can move everything around how I want and improvise rhythms and harmonies, etc.. Everything is dynamic.. ever changing.. I never have to commit to anything until I want to.. I can even fix mistakes by changing what I do next..

without my instrument all I control is my reaction to everything else.. and thats cools sometimes.. and sometimes not.. I feel a little lonely with without all my power.. all my control.. wow.. that actually might be a good description of my personality too.. lol... wow..

we all desire control.. and exert control wherever we can. without control we feel exposed.. naked.. just like me without my guitar.. but you know.. if I did know it all.. and I was always right, you would describe me the same way... so Im cool with that... ;)

I feel you about the control thing...But I'm sure you'll be just as great without an instrument in your hands...

And I dunno about the latter
