dont mean to offend anybody with this poem, this is just how i feel sometimes...cuz the other day i heard a guy say that i was "mad pretty, but just too dark" it hurt...but thats his ignorance...although i have a man that loves me alot and thinks that im beautfiul...i still feel regular sometimes when i see girls that look so exotic...some of ya'll may see this as insecurity or selfishness or you may not even understand...but i write what i feel and this is what i felt and if you dont like it, then im sorry...

    im sorry that i
    aint reaching your standards
    im sorry that my
    skin aint to your standards
    im sorry that im
    a regular black girl
    you cant fantasize
cuz im not a mix of worlds
    im sorry that my
    hair aint naturally silky
    im sorry that my
    skin aint tan and milky
    im sorry that i
    dont look all exotic
    im sorry that im
    just a regular black chick...

My sister the color of your skin was just the reflection of his warped ideas and short commings as a person and a brother ( if I can call him this ). The fact is we all have a preference such as height, weight, hair ect...... but it just shows how good of a jod the (white) man has done to us while we were enslaved physically and how some of us are still enslaved within our own mental trappings. mad love to the poem... keep on stroke'n ya style! :grouphug:

No offense taken on my part you spoke from the heart and no one can say anything about that and the main reason that you are so beautiful is because you are black so keep that head up and as the ignorant they'll get theres in time don't worry

It is clear from your flow that your feelings were hurt, everyone's feelings get hurt sometimes. There's nothing wrong in expressing those emotions, which you did quite well poet. Beauty comes in every shade, if he can't see that, it's because brain washing has blinded him. Do flow on.
