    Inspired by,
    Brother Poet Keita Kenyatta's
    "As The Years Go By"

    jeweled in black skin
    head held high, posture gorgeous
    gliding like water

    watched you climb uphill
watched you get knocked down again
    took your hand and said

    let's climb together
this time we will take that hill
    they can't keep us down

    hacking at our knees
with the jawbone of an ***
    in their bloody fists

    cause what they don't know
    aint no force more powerful
    than black on black love
