    Rediscovering my ME

    I ONCE was
    Here
    SELF-aware
    And FULLY lucid

    ~ Now ~

    My heart stANds still
Bound by the bonds of alone(li)ness
    That “Lonely” begets

    LOST
    …Filled with the barren(ness)
    Of love’s
    Abandonment

    “Heaven-sent” has deserted me

I cannot see the ME that life GAVE me
That “forever” promised me…when you were near me

    As “Everyday” envelopes me
    …Assails me
Tries the patience of my dignity
I can not BE the only person I KNOW to be

    It gnaws at me
Like a vulture stealing flesh from my bones
AND I wallow in my aloneness

    My heart stands still

    As I…
    Rediscover…my happiness
    …My ME
    The ME that once was
    Yeah…that me

The ME that was lost to me
The “ME” in “WE” I had come to BE

Where was I when HAPPINESS left me
…AbAnDoNeD me for a life without me
I need to be THAT me
The ME I haven’t been (it seems) an eternity

As I wander this path to SELF-rediscovery
To find the ME I lost to thee
…The natural happiness that defines the ME that others seek, religiously
And all the confidence others see in ME
    Misrepresented as arrogance
    By the ignorance in thee

    ~ That’s not me ~

    Rediscovering my happiness allows me
To plunder the life my FATHER set for me

To Discover the ME others cannot see
As I discard the “selfish” ME others claim me to be

    Now I see…

Castrated parts of a sublime anatomy

    ME

Immersed in the savagery of a sadness
    Inherited from A broken heart

    My heart stands still

    ME.

    Wow...

I can totally relate. It's so important to be who you are than who people believe you are. To even reconnect with the you that you remember but obviously on a more elevated plane. Enjoyed this!!!

    Deep Journey

    Discovering my me
    heartbreak with
    lingering ache
    is no fun
    with time heals
    for another day
    full of flows
    no one knows
    or feels
    what I've been
    through
    but expressed perfectly
    by you poet
    Feeling this thoro!

It may not be the Me that others are comfortable with, but it's the Me that makes you feel at home with yourself. Appreciated this well wrtitten piece.

    THANKS, Poets...

...sometimes, life invites us into situations that drives us to become an alter US...a little off key, but still recognizable US...but it isn't the US we know we are...not the US we want to be. so, when life looks the other way, we try to find our way back to our CENTER...to allow the real US...the true US...to regain our throne.

    THANKS for reading.

    rEdIsCoVeRiNg my ME...

a journey many of us have or will probably take in our lifetime because our me wandered away from us. In fact, my journey has started this year:)
