A bright star on a lonely night
A husband & wife in flight
In the family way, & no room in the inn
No sympathy for her, or the shape she was in.
So in a manger where cattle was fed
Was this poor woman forced to put her child’s head.
Meanwhile the star continued to burn bright
Leading those searching for a savior, towards the light.
Gifts were brought in reverence of his birth
As angels proclaimed his coming throughout the earth.
The honor paid to him because he is the King
Born to die for our sins, that is why the angels sing.
But today we have forgotten what the day really means
Now it’s all about money, not the newborn King
It’s all about a fat white guy, in a red suit
Not about a savior born to die just for you.
Its about buy me this, and what am I gonna get?
It’s about how many days are left, and is Santa coming yet?
But let’s take the time & remember the reason
What was done for us, and the meaning behind the season.
