We are the ones that know the wroth of a real Black Sister.

    Why Don't You See Us?

We are ones that open doors for you just to see your smile.

    Why Don't You See Us?

We are the ones that drove that bus you took to work all last week.

    Why Don't You See Us?

We are the one that teach your children every day.

    Why Don't You See Us?

We are the ones that even tho we are not with our children's Mother..the child lack's for nothing (Time/or Expenses).

    Why Don't You See Us?

We are the ones that fight your fires..reather they be combustible, legal, medical, or political.

    Why Don't You See Us?

We are the ones that walk the streets at night without a gun...just to make sure you come to no harm.

    Why Don't You See Us.

We are that ones that don't look to be seen..but when it's time to take care of business...we will be heard.

    Why Don't You See Us?

You ask for Real Black Men to Stand Up...I say we stand up everyday in every-way. Don't be in such a hurry to pass us by.

    Why Don't You See Us?

I hear you Lilpea, you got that right but I must say this. When the sisters that don't see you, the ones you are talking about, you also don't see certain sistas as well. Brothas hoop and holla about sisters who don't see them but the sistas who do see them, those don't be the types of sistas the brothas be wanting.

For example Dennis Rodman and Wesley Snipes to name a few. These brothers both claimed that black women didn't want them until they got rich. I find that hard to be true. It was some sistas who was loving them but they were probably not the stereotypical type of sister they wanted to be with. More than likely, the women who was not seen by those men, probably had the same features as them. Dark skin, kinky hair and such. We brothas and sisters need not to be so judgemental towards each other, there is beauty in all of us. We just have to not be concrened, with what society say's. Once we get our minds off of what other ignornat people think, we become free and that is when we can see the beauty that we have been missing out on all those years.

    Sweet apple*pie,

Please, sweet apple*pie, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. This is a very good thread issue you have raised, that we should be conversing on, if we are to ever get over our problems.

lilpea just brought out the other side of the equation, that's all. So, hold your head up and continue to walk talk, young Lady, because you are the tallest person in these forums.

Please forgive me for taking you for granted
But I've been doing this on my own for so long
I didn't take time to see you standing there
Because for every good brother out there
There seems to be 50 good for nothings
But i promise the next time you walk by
I will take time to really see you my king
So please don't give up on a sister just yet
For now that I know that you all are out there
I will be patient enough to wait to be found
But don't you my king overlook this good thing

    Sweet apple*pie...

By no means was I trying to stab you....as a matter of fact I was very grateful you started that thread. It gave me the opportunity to express myself in a way I had be wanting to do for a long time. So please don't be embarrassed because I really do thank you for the inspiration.

By the way did u have a specific post that u wanted me to respond to?

Now as for the rest of the poets and poetess that responded...I am most humbled by your praise. I hope I may grow to become worthy of it.

Loved your flow asimplepoet..I too hope that he hurries your way. A good thing shouldn't be wasted.

Sister Astrologer4U..all I can say is that through my experiences I've learn that the wrapping of a person is just that, the true gift is on the inside. So a person may never know what is offered...unless he/she takes the time to open it up and see.

Thank you Brother Rich, Brother Clyde, Sister Mizjoice....as I stated I a humbled by your praise.
