I saw it when I looked in the mirror at my body
ANd through all the many imperfections that my eyes saw
there was this thing of rare beauty strength and truth
I could see that on those marks of time and struggle
there was a story the one of my life
and the things my young eyes and eighteen years have taught me
I see that he didn't need to love me
Nor did he want to
Because I didn't know real
Love I didn't know the love that was buried some
thousands of miles away in the depths of my being
The things that make up a real woman hidden somwhere deep down under the surface
the beauty that transcends time
Passed through generations of women
Who desired to hide
For fear that no one would ever know or hear
their cries to let
thier little lights shine
I saw that beauty down my arms in my hair
I saw on my knees and I felt free
because that moment in my bathroom
I saw everything that the magazines could never show you
the things and parts that the plastic surgeon can't mold you
the star that not even astronauts have seen
I saw that thing
That is my beauty In Its simplest form
