They should build them with dual NICs... then you can cluster them.
Still possible with just one NIC. There are the obvious design disadvantages, but it has been done before with other boards (BeagleBoards etc):

Before dual NICs I'd personally want to see PoE first. It'd be nice if they started a line that was solar powered and wireless for sensing network projects. Single charge battery options wouldn't be bad either. I guess there's not much incentive for this yet since arduino covers a lot of these areas.
