Big props for passing along this latest wake up call to all of us!!!!!
Ahhhh...you believe so, Bro. James? I didn't get that reaction...but could that be, because I'm a woman? I've talked to several Black women who saw the portrait and they reacted the same as I did...Obama looked like a man who is relaxed and attuned to knowing who he is, comfortable in his skin, and unapologetic about expressing his "manhood" in such an organic and natural way. Totally unafraid to be different. The man looked very appealing to me. And Michelle, if you read this, please don't be offended 'cause I ain't lusting after your man but I think Kehinde did a mighty fine job capturing the likeness and spirit of Obama. I love that portrait. The fact that the flowers represent the three locations he claims his heritage ...Kenya, Hawaii and Chicago...
it is a poor portrait. totally inappropriate. i hate Wiley.
i believe that feminine black males is not what we need right now.
The hidden political message of Michelle Obama's portrait dress
these artists made it more about THEM than their subjects.
that is inappropriate for a formal portrait.
i hate both of these artists and their work. they make me sick.
there is a reason white people love them.
