... Another fine example of racist politics and arbitrary law ...

The Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Michigan's Affirmative Action Ban

lead_large.jpg

AP

In a 6 to 2 decision, the Supreme Court has determined that the Michigan ban on affirmative action in college admissions is constitutional, reversing a decision against the ban by a federal appeals court.

Justice Kennedy penned the plurality opinion for the court, joined by Justices Alito and Chief Justice Roberts, arguing that neither the Constitution nor previous court precedent gives the courts the authority to overturn a voter-approved prohibition on race-conscious admissions policies. Justices Breyer, Scalia, and Thomas filed concurring opinions, while Sotomayor wrote the dissenting opinion. Justice Ginsburg joined in the dissent, while Justice Kagan was recused from the case and did not vote.

Afrikan Liberation is not a spectator sport! What do you suggest we do in response to this decision?

Cliven Bundy Neatly Encapsulates a Potent Crossroads of Opposition to Obama

There were already a lot of lessons about the modern political landscape to be drawn from the standoff of rancher Cliven Bundy and federal agents in Nevada, but Bundy's comments looping in race and the welfare state reveal one of the most important: President Obama embodies a number of the things that his opponents dislike most.

Race will NEVER become "less of a factor" to white voters and policy makers. It is not by accident that wherever you go in the world, whites are on top and the sons and daughters of Africa are on the bottom.

Kadijah even when whites are poor and uneducated they still believe that they are better than blacks who may have a better education and better jobs. White folks BELIEVE that their skin colour is what makes them somebody of importance. Remember what happened during the war in Kosovo and Bosnia. Europe was willling to allow all and sundry from these countries to settle in their countries...including the great ole USA. Contrast Europe's attitude when blacks from Africa seek to enter their country. Race has and always will be a determining factor in the way white folks operate in this world.

Now that you've explained the problem! What is the solution?

It's been a good while, but this place has always been home. Thankful to be here.
Hi! I'm not as active on this account as I want to be. For one I tend to forget that this site exists until I check my email. Two, I'm currently in the process of building up a fine art site for Oklahoma black and native historical references. The references correlate with another site that will be a storytelling site that has not yet been produced.
Happy to be back and gaining more knowledge!
