The word "pyramid" is a Greek word. So, of course, the Exodus of the Old Testament, written in Hebrew, doesn't say, "Yeah, we waved 'bye-bye' to the 'pyramids' and the 'sphinx' when we left Egypt."

Of course, even the ancient people of Kemet didn't use the word "pyramid."

Nor did they use the word "Sphinx."

So, the so-called "pyramids" and what is now called "the Sphinx" were called by other words in the language of the ancient Kemetians and the Hebrew People in their language.

Much of what, today, are called "pyramids," in ancient Kemet, would have been called "Per-Neter/Neteru" (house of nature), "Per-Ka" (house of the physical body), a tomb, or "Per-Ba" (temple) to describe the constructions designed for various intents/usages.

In a fascinating new book entitled "Exodus", by Garry Matheny, the author makes a compelling case for the location of where Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt. And a couple of very important landmarks still standing in Egypt today may mark where it all began. Those two landmarks being the Pyramids and the Sphinx located at Giza. And the Bible itself may just in fact mention both of them.

The main Biblical texts for the arguments are place names found in Exodus 12:37 & 13:18-14:9:
"Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth . . . "So God led the people around by the way of the wilderness of the Red Sea .... So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness. . . . Now the Lord spoke to Moses saying: "Speak to the children of Israel that they turn and camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal Zephon; you shall camp before it by the sea." . . . So the Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horseman and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi-Hahiroth, before Baal Zephon."

Matheny first of all believes that the royal Egyptian palace to which Moses confronted Pharaoh was at Memphis, just seven and a half miles south of the pyramids at Giza. This is based on comments from early historians such as Philo who when commenting on the seventh plague said "the country beyond Memphis, where the palace of the king is." A position also held by the church historian Eusebius.
One of the candidates for the Exodus pharaoh, Thutmose I, also built a royal palace at the city of Memphis. A later pharaoh, Tutankhamun, mentioned he was residing at this “palace which is in the house of Thutmose I,” which an inscription from the reign of King Tuts’ successor, Pharaoh Ay, mentioned as being located at Memphis.
Exodus 12:37 tells us the place where the Exodus began. It was Rameses, which most scholars identify with the city of Avaris. This site was later incorporated into the city of Pi-Ramesses.
From there many different Exodus routes and sea crossing locations have been proposed. Some believe that God parted the waters at lake Ballah, others at the northern tip of the gulf of Suez, and still others at the Gulf of Aqabah.
But Matheny does not hold that the Israelites left from this site. He contends that the mention of Rameses was not the city of Rameses, but the broader area known as the “land of Rameses.” To the Egyptians, Rameses meant the land which the Egyptian god “Ra created.”

The “land of Rameses” was first mentioned in Genesis 47:11 which states: “Joseph settled his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses.” Matheny speculates that this may have included all of the fertile lands in the Nile delta around Memphis. The Egyptians called the fertile lands the “Black Land” and the desert the “Red Land.” And although he didn’t provide any specific evidence crucial in proving his theory, the city of Heliopolis, which was the next major Egyptian city located just to the northeast of pyramids, was a major worship center for the god Ra. The Septuagint also adds Heliopolis to the cities of Rameses and Pithom which were built by the Hebrews according to Exodus 1:11.

...Isaiah 19:19-20 says,"In THAT DAY there will be an ALTAR to the LORD in theMIDST of the land of Egypt, and a PILLAR at the BORDER thereof to the Lord. And IT shall be a SIGN and a WITNESS to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior, and a Great One and He shall deliver them".

The Great Pyramid will be standing "in that day," when the Seventh Trumpet announces the great and dreadful day of the Lord and two prophets go forth to introduce the parousia of Israel's Savior Who will deliver them according to their faith. The word "IT" conveys the idea that the "altar" and "pillar" are one and the same object.

The Great Pyramid is located at Giza, which means "BORDER," on the border of Upper and Lower Egypt, and stands at the geographical center or MIDST of Egypt, defining the segment of a circle around the Nile Delta subtended by diagonal lines extending northwest and northeast.

The Pyramid is certainly a "PILLAR" as the text requires, and also an "ALTAR" in the sense of being a witness to the Lord. Joshua 22:26-27 "Let us now prepare to build us an ALTAR, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice: But that it may be a WITNESS between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the Lord before Him . . ."

The gematria of Isaiah 19:19-20: also identifies the Great Pyramid as God's special revelation. Gematria is the science of finding meaning in the numerical value of words and was used by Ivan Panin and others to demonstrate the Supernatural inspiration of Holy writ. Having no numerals, the Hebrews designated the letters of their alphabet with a numerical value. Thus every word has the numerical value of the sum of the value of its letters. The sum of the value of all Hebrew characters in the these verses is 5449, the height in inches of the Great Pyramid!

....Like all Scripture, the Great Pyramid has a compound revelation. In the natural it represents God's footstool, this earth. In the Spiritual it is His future dwelling place and throne in His elect.

Ephesians 2:20-22, "We are built upon the FOUNDATION OF THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS, Jesus Christ Himself being the CHIEF CORNER-STONE; In whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto a HOLY TEMPLE in the Lord: In whom we also are builded together for an HABITATION OF GOD through the Spirit."

Only the pyramid can represent God manifested in the saints of all Ages, the New Jerusalem. No other architectural form has a "chief corner stone" which is reproduced by the building it completes as the Bride reproduces Christ. "All God was He poured into Christ, and all Christ was He poured into His Church" (John 17:20-23). Being five-sided, it has no place in the building but as the chief corner-stone or Capstone to whose angles the whole building is fitly joined together.

Israel rejected that Stone for which they could recognize no place until the building was completed. He became a "Stone of stumbling and a Rock of offense" to them (I Peter 2:7-8; Romans 9:32-33). The capstone of a pyramid has five sides and five corners, the chief of which always points heavenward. Anyone falling upon it would be "broken" or injured, and were it to fall on anyone, it would grind him to powder (Matthew 21:42-44).

"The Stone which the builders refused is become the Head Stone of the Corner"(Psalm 118:22). ....
