Purplemoon with a silvery glow
Essence of a woman and the thangs she knows
Purple Power with a shimmering soul.
Fighting to belong
Struggling to be strong
Where have all our good black men gone?
From day 1 we were holdin' it down
We have evolved.
From the heart of Africa
To the coldness of a boat
Trapped and enslaved
Rape and depraved
Constantly pushing
Determined to survive
Never to become exstinct
What did they think?
That we wouldn't survive?
That we wouldn't stay alive?
That we would just die?
From battling for the rights of all women
To gaining more knowledge and winning
Winning to be recognized for our strenght
From nurturing our children
To the back bone of our men
Holding **** down
We, Us,
For all my purplemoons with the silvery glow
Holding it down .............Fo' Sho'!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
